Professor Wang received his B.S. degree in Biotechnology from Peking University in 2000. He then joined Dr. Scott K. Silverman's laboratory to study nucleic acid biochemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry in 2006. After that, he became a postdoctoral fellow studying microRNAs and embryonic stem cells in Dr. Robert H. Blelloch's laboratory at the Unviersity of California, San Francisco. He became a principle investigator at the Institute of Molecular Medicine in 2011.
